Iowa New Jobs Training Program

The Iowa New Jobs Training Program was developed to provide funding to meet the wide variety of training and employee development needs for new employees. Funding is generated by the sale of certificates (bonds) allowing companies an opportunity to provide training at no cost to the company.  The assistance ranges from highly specialized educational programs to basic skill training for new positions.

Eligibility Guidelines
Businesses engaged in manufacturing, processing, assembling products, warehousing, wholesaling or conducting research and development.  Businesses engaged in the provision of services that have customers outside of Iowa.

Iowa Jobs Training Program

Iowa Jobs Training programs were developed to provide funding for customized training for existing employees.  This is an application process in which ICCC applies to the state for funding on behalf of an area company.  A maximum award is $25,000 provided the company offers a minimum of 25 percent cash match.  This is a forgivable loan to the company for training.  They must complete the training in order to have the loan forgiven.

Businesses engaged in manufacturing, processing, assembling products, warehousing, wholesaling or conducting research and development.  Businesses engaged in the provision of services that have customers outside of Iowa.

Apprenticeship

Apprenticeship programs are funded through the Iowa Jobs Training Program.  Four year programs designed to cover both class room and on-the-job training.  It must be a Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training approved program.

Accelerated Career Education Program (ACE)

ACE programs were designed to provide funding for infrastructure cost associated with adding student capacity.  The programs are developed jointly between Iowa Central and a specific company or consortium of businesses to meet their skilled workforce needs. Iowa Central Projects include:  Carpentry, Maintenance, Transportation, Dental Hygienist, ADN, and Auto.

Customized Training

Customized technical training is provided in many skills areas and is developed around your needs. Iowa Central Community College’s Custom Technical Training department can arrange to deliver training when and where you want it at a cost lower than you might expect. We can provide this training at your location, at Iowa Central facilities, or at another suitable location. Our training is given by our training specialists or by experienced industry professionals.
