4 Credit Hours

This is a study of microorganisms with emphasis on bacteria and viruses along with an overview of fungi and protozoan. Topics covered include scientific method, classification, morphology, physiology, culturing techniques, identification, control, diseases, and host defense. It is designed for health-care majors. It is strongly recommended that BIO-112 General Biology I or BIO-168 Human Anatomy and Physiology I or equivalent precede this course. Three hours lecture, two hours lab.
