This course focuses on supervised experience* in selected early childhood settings serving children ages birth through eight. Includes integration of theory and developmentally appropriate, evidence-based, practice. Provides an understanding of the working with culturally, linguistically, and ability-diverse young children and families. Emphasizes professional relationships and behavior, appropriate adult/child interactions, basic curriculum planning, and program routines. *Requires a minimum of 80 contact hours (4800 minutes) for 2 credits of direct work with children, with the remaining contact hours equal to one credit being distributed across direct contact and classroom hours as deemed appropriate by the institution.
