This course presents legal implications and ethical considerations relevant to healthcare. Basic administrative procedures performed in ambulatory healthcare settings are introduced to provide medical assistant students with a foundation for continued studies of the administrative duties relevant to the profession. The course encourages students to demonstrate critical thinking, and to incorporate knowledge gained into the performance of course competencies. This course is the first course of a two-semester sequence. Pre-requisite: Acceptance into the Medical Assistant Program.
