Medical Laboratory Procedures II

This course expands on basic medical laboratory procedures presented in Medical Laboratory Procedures I with emphasis on chemistry, urinalysis, and microbiology. The course encourages the student to demonstrate critical thinking based on knowledge of academic subject matter required for competence in the medical assisting profession. Students will learn to incorporate the cognitive knowledge in performance of the psychomotor and affective domains in their practice as medical assistants in providing patient care. Pre-requisites: Acceptance into the Medical Assistant Program and successful completion of MAP-221 Medical Laboratory Procedures I with a "C" (76%) or better.
