Principles of Macroeconomics
3 Credit Hours

Course Description

This course is an introduction to the general field of economics, description and analysis of the American economic system, national income accounting, modern employment theory, fiscal policy, monetary policy, and economic growth.

Course Delivery
FlexNet courses are taught via the internet using iNET (located in TritonPass). Students can enroll in a FlexNet course at any time throughout the semester as long as there is space available in the course, except the last three weeks of the term. Students have until the end of the term to complete the course from the time of enrollment and payment. All FlexNet courses end on the same date, the last day of the term, no matter the enrollment date. FlexNet courses do not have weekly deadlines, but it is highly recommended for students to stay on task.

Software and Hardware Requirement
An internet browser and an E-mail account is required. Nearly all platforms and browsers work with this course.

Computer Literacy Requirement
The student must be comfortable working with computers and the Internet; must be able to use e-mail; and must be able to send attachments via the e-mail system.

Assignments
The course is structured by textbook chapter. There is a short, timed online test for each chapter covered, accompanied by both a discussion forum where students engage each other on select topics, and a presentation forum were students present problems or examples to the class. Students do a short internet research project, and one final position paper. Although a student may work at any pace to complete the course, it is especially designed for the student to do one chapter per week, and have two weeks remaining for the papers.
