About Iowa Central

About the Position

We are seeking a Graduate Assistant to assist the ICCC Athletic Trainers.  Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Oversee the overall health and physical well-being of all intercollegiate athletes; teach credit and non-credit courses pertaining to physical education and athletic training; oversee and supervise clinical hours of athletic training students in athletic training room, at practices, and games; assist in the curriculum and program development; and recruit and advise students within the athletic training program.  Females and minorities encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree
  • Successful completion of NATA certification exam preferred
  • Must be eligible for certification exam
  • Excellent teaching ability
  • Excellent motivating and recruiting skills
  • Excellent role model and leader for young people
  • Willingness to travel (driver’s license required)

Conditions

Tuition waiver of $4,500 towards online graduate program per year, a monthly stipend of $500 for ten months, and room and board provided.  Ten month appointment for the 2014-2015 academic year.  Reappointment for the 2015-2016 academic year contingent on satisfactory work and academic achievement. No benefits are provided.
