Music
The music program at Iowa Central has long been considered innovative and pioneering in helping shape trends in music education.
The music department at Iowa Central Community College seeks to serve all musically talented students. Performing ensembles are available to any students with a musical background who desire to participate. These include:
- Brass Ensemble
- Concert Band
- Concert Choir
- Encore Signers Show
- Encore Jazz Band
- Pep Band
- Vocal Jazz Ensemble
Performance Opportunities
- Band and choral ensembles tour annually and receive invitations to travel state-wide and nationally. Aside from performing groups, students may experience opportunities such as student recitals, guest artists and musicals
- “Spotlight on the Stars,” featuring the music, theatre, and dance departments
- Holiday Festival, featuring the art, music, and theater department brings the first semester to a close
- Spring Musical in February
- Spring Showcase featuring the music and choir ensembles
- Home sporting events
