Fort Dodge - Iowa Central Community College was proud to recognize Isaac Thomason as the recipient of the 2010 GED Testing Service National Award for Outstanding Achievement at the annual Advisory Board Banquet on Thursday, November 3, 2011. Out of over 6000 GED testers in the state of Iowa, Isaac achieved the highest score with an overall score of 3870  out of a maximum 4000 points. Isaac shared with Dave Grosland, Interim Vice President of Instruction, that his inspiration for returning to GED class was the birth of his daughter. In addition, Isaac had this to say about his experience as a GED student, “The GED teachers were very friendly and put me at ease. I was amazed at how they helped each person one on one. When I finally got my GED, I was filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment.”

Isaac’s job and family are keeping him busy these days, but he hopes to further his education one day at Iowa Central.
