FORT DODGE – Iowa Central Community College's annual Night of Academic Excellence will be held in Decker Auditorium on Tuesday, April 16, at 7:00 p.m.

The ceremony will recognize students who are members of the Iowa Central Honor Society and Who’s Who in American Junior Colleges in addition to the Athlete of the Year and USA Today Academic All-American award winners. The ceremony will also include musical selections performed by Iowa Central Performing Arts students. A reception will follow immediately in the Triton Inn for anyone in attendance.

For students to be included into the Iowa Central Honor Society and Who’s Who in American Junior Colleges, they must have earned enough credits to graduate with a grade point average of 3.50 or higher in addition to extracurricular and community involvement.

The Athlete of the Year Award is voted on annually by Iowa Central’s athletic department. One male and one female sophomore athlete that represent Iowa Central positively both on the field and off are selected.

Students are nominated by the faculty and staff for the USA Today Academic All-American Award. The finalists and award recipients are selected by a committee based on grade point average, involvement in the community, extracurricular activities and an essay they submitted.
