FORT DODGE - The Iowa Central cross country program will Race to Erase Breast Cancer for the sixth straight year. The Tritons will use the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to help raise money for Trinity Regional Medical Cancer Center in Fort Dodge.
The Tritons will sell Race to Erase Breast Cancer t-shirts for $15 and pink C9 Champion Seamless Racerback sports bras with the Race to Erase Breast Cancer logo on them for $20. The program will also be accepting free will donations throughout the month of October.
Since 2007, Tritons have raised $8,900 for Trinity Regional Cancer Center over the last five years. Last year, the program raised $2,600 and the donation was matched by a private donor to bring the total donation to $5,200.
“This is a great fundraiser for our program to be associated with and it really is one of the highlights of our year,” said head coach Dee Brown. “Our program has a great source of pride with this fundraiser and we hope to be able to continue to help Trinity Regional.”
