Vocal Music
At Iowa Central, the arts are a basic component of campus life and the music arena is a growing and innovative part of the college experience.
Vocal music is a vital aspect of life at Iowa Central. The college prides itself on its high-quality musical productions and concert performances. Our program provides dynamic entertainment that entertains audiences across the state.
Concert Choir is open to all Iowa Central students. With three rehearsals every week. much emphasis is placed on presenting two exciting performances each semester. A wide spectrum of music is presented to an eager public, from sacred Broadway show to multicultural and international music. Students benefit from the diversity of the ensemble's members and enjoy the camaraderie of working together.
Encore Singers is a highly choreographed choral ensemble comprised of 22-24 select singers and dancers. Students benefit from having both the choral and dance directors at every rehearsal. With opportunity for solo performance, members of this group are often asked to perform at area high schools, colleges, and community events. All Encore Singers are members of Concert Choir.
Vocal Jazz is the most select ensemble with only 8-10 members who perform both accompanied and a’capella music. Vocal Jazz members are actively recruited to perform at community and college functions. All Vocal Jazz members are members of Concert Choir.
