Iowa Central Community College realizes and understands the importance of providing a safe and secure environment for students and employees. The College is supportive of the Campus Security Act and is committed to taking the necessary actions to increase safety on campus.
Under the Act, by September 1 of each year, institutions must publish and distribute to current and prospective students and employees an annual security report that includes statistics concerning the occurrences on campus of certain criminal offenses reported to campus officials. The Act also requires institutions to provide a timely warning to the campus community about crimes that are considered to represent a continuing threat to students and employees. This warning must be done in a manner that will aid in the prevention of similar crimes.
A report on campus crime will be published annually for the College community in the Student Handbook. The College is committed to reviewing these statistics annually and taking the necessary steps to develop and implement additional safety practices or procedures needed to ensure an optimum safe environment for its students and employees.
