Job Title: College and Career Transition Counselor

Job Duties: I collaborate with the counseling offices at Newell-Fonda, Pocahontas Area, and Sioux Central to support students in exploring college and career pathways. While working in the high schools, I guide students in selecting post-secondary courses that align with their future goals and educational interests, including programs offered through Iowa Central Community College as well as other colleges and universities.

I assist students and their families throughout the post-secondary planning process, including college admissions, application completion, financial aid, FAFSA, scholarship opportunities, and career-related applications. Whether a student plans to attend Iowa Central or pursue a degree at another two- or four-year institution, I provide personalized support to help them navigate their next steps with confidence and success.

Favorite thing about Iowa Central: Helping students identify and pursue their future goals is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work. I enjoy watching their confidence grow and celebrating with them as they achieve their goals. The commitment to a student-first philosophy is reflected in every relationship and experience across our institution.
