Job Title: College & Career Transition Counselor
Job Duties: Jared currently serves students at Humboldt, Greene County, Paton-Churdan, and East Sac County High Schools, where he works to connect students with the resources, opportunities, and experiences they need to take their next steps with confidence for life after graduation. A key part of Jared’s role is helping students make informed decisions about concurrent enrollment opportunities. He advises students on selecting college-level courses that align with their individual post-secondary plans, intended majors, career interests, and future educational goals. By strategically choosing concurrent enrollment courses, students can earn college credit while in high school and build a strong academic foundation for their transition to college. He also provides support with FAFSA completion, college applications/scholarship help, job shadows, campus visits, and anything else post-secondary related.
Favorite thing about Iowa Central: I love helping make post-secondary planning less overwhelming for students and families. Helping students discover their options after high school and finding pathways that fit their individual goals, whether that's college acceptance, scholarships, career certifications, internships, or employment.
