How do I submit an online order?

You can submit your order securely via this website.  An email confirmation will be sent directly to the email address on your account to ensure your order has been received.

For assistance in placing an order:
Call the Bookstore at 515-574-1081 or 1-800-362-2793 ext. 1081 during regular business hours.  You can also click on the “Customer Care” section of the website to submit your questions.

When should I order my textbooks?
Each semester new textbooks or editions are added to our list of books as older versions are deleted.  Therefore, in order to prevent ordering the wrong book or edition, orders should be placed no earlier than two weeks prior to the start of a semester.

Does the bookstore sell used textbooks?

Yes. Our goal at Iowa Central is to ensure that all students are able to obtain the course materials they need at reasonable prices.  We continually update our website to reflect the available textbooks for sale, including both used and new books.

Does the bookstore offer textbooks as rentals?

Yes. We do have a selection of books offered as rentals. They can be rented for the semester but must be returned by the end of finals week to avoid further fees. Rental information and prices are available on the current booklist. Students are responsible if rented books are lost, stolen, or damaged.

All rentals must be done in-store only.

How is my order shipped and how long will it take?

The Iowa Central Bookstore is proud of our quick and efficient shipping procedures.  Orders placed online are typically shipped out the same day via UPS.  Orders placed after 3 p.m. Central Time will be processed the following business day.  An email confirmation, including a UPS tracking number, will be sent directly to the email address on your account so that you can track the progress of your order.

On average, your order should be received within 4-8 working days from the time that it is processed.  During August, December, and around holidays delivery time may take longer.

Can I place an order online and pick it up at the Campus Bookstore?

How do I determine which textbooks to order for my classes?

At the top of the Iowa Central Bookstore website, you will find a section called “Quick Search” where you can simply enter your course number to search for textbooks.  Be sure to only enter the course subject and course number, including the dash in between.  For example, if your course schedule lists a course as ENG-105-FN01, you will only enter ENG-105 to search for your textbook.

Check your course schedule to ensure you are ordering the correct textbooks required for the course you are enrolled in.  When selecting your textbooks, pay special attention to the “Required for” section in the textbook descriptions, to determine if a book is required for the type of delivery you are enrolled in, i.e. Face-to-Face, FlexNet, or  8-Week Online.

A copy of your course schedule can be found in your WebAdvisor account within TritonPass.

Can I change my order after it has been submitted?

If you need to make changes to your order, including adding or subtracting items from your order, or changing the shipping address, contact the Bookstore by phone immediately.

Note: There may be additional fees for changes made after your order has shipped.
