Welcome to the Iowa Central Center for Performing Arts and Decker Auditorium! We want you to have a great experience each and every time you attend a performance. Below is information regarding your visit to ensure that everything goes smoothly from the moment you arrive.

Directions to CPA

From the North (e.g., Humboldt or Algona): Take US-169 South toward Fort Dodge. Turn left onto 2nd Avenue South. Turn right onto South 25th Street. Continue straight into the Iowa Central Community College campus. Follow signs to Decker Auditorium.

From the South (e.g., Des Moines): Take I-35 North to US-20 West. Take Exit 127 for US-169 North toward Fort Dodge. Turn right onto US-169 North. Turn right onto 2nd Avenue South. Turn right onto South 25th Street and follow signs to Decker Auditorium.

From the East or West (on US-20): Take US-20 to Exit 127 for US-169 North. Follow US-169 North into Fort Dodge. Turn right onto 2nd Avenue South. Turn right onto South 25th Street and continue to the Iowa Central campus.

Parking

Parking lots surrounding the venue are free spaces. Our main lot closest to Decker Auditorium will be cleared for every performance in the 2025-2026 Season. All spaces are available to all patrons and do not require any permits, tags, or costs associated. Handicap parking is available surrounding the venue.

Our parking garage is located to the south of the Center for Performing Arts for overflow, easy access parking. (Note: There is no elevator in the parking garage.)

Getting To Your Seat and Accessibility

Enter the Center for Performing Arts – Decker Auditorium through the South Lobby Entrance or East Lobby doors. The box office is located towards the south entrance of the lobby. Once you arrive, look at the DOOR # located on your ticket to find which door is closest to your seat. DOORS 1-4 are located on the Orchestra Level, DOORS 5-8 are located on the Mezzanine Level. (Note: There is an elevator for access to the Mezzanine Balcony.)

Listening Technologies

Decker Auditorium is equipped with a hearing assistance system. Iowa Central provides an inclusive, accessible, and compliant assistive listening system to deliver an awesome experience for all of our guests. Please ask for a receiver at the box office.

The LR-4200-IR receiver from Listen Technologies offers outstanding audio clarity and quality with the best range and reception in its class. It is a compact unit that won’t burden the patron. An integrated neck loop/lanyard makes each receiver easy to wear, and the DSP loop driver offers an improved listening experience for anyone with a T-coil-equipped hearing aid. Dual 3.5mm output jacks also allow receivers to be shared between users. This receiver offers convenient, reliable assistive listening.

Elevator

Our elevator to the Mezzanine level is located at the South entrance of the lobby.
Elevator Instructions: Button ‘M’ will take you to the Mezzanine Lobby. Button ‘2’ will take you to our 2nd floor classrooms and conference room.

Special Seating Needs

Seating is available for all performances for a variety of accessibility requirements (including wheelchair, lifted armrest access, motorized cart, difficulty with stairs and sight impairment). Please call the Iowa Central box office at 515-574-1210.

Theater Venue Safety & Security Policy

---

The safety and well-being of our guests, performers, and staff are our top priorities.

In case of an emergency, please follow instructions from theater staff and posted signage. Emergency exits are clearly marked and must always remain unobstructed. Our team is trained in evacuation and emergency response protocols.

Uniformed and un-marked security personnel are on-site during all season events. Video surveillance is used throughout the venue for safety monitoring.

First aid assistance is available at all events. Please notify a staff member if you need help. The venue complies with ADA accessibility standards and offers seating and assistance for guests with disabilities.

Medical Assistance/First Aid

If you have a medical need, please notify Guest Services staff. Campus Security will be notified of the situation. Medical services are provided by Unity Point Health. Campus Security 515-574-1000.
