Course Description: This course provides students with a basic level of knowledge and skills to provide safe, effective resident care. This nurse aide course meets the training requirements of The Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 (OBRA) for aides working in nursing facilities (NF) and skilled nursing facilities (SNF).
Course Comments: Clinical dates and time will be entered closer to start of class. Medical paperwork due 1st day of class or before clinical: Physical and 2 Step TB shot required. Uniform (any color/style) and gait belt required for clinical. Textbook and gait belt can be purchased at ICCC bookstore, off internet or borrowed from someone (student choice). State background checks are required by law to be completed prior to start of class.
