The Veterinary Assistant Diploma will prepare graduates for entry-level positions in the animal care field. The skills learned will prepare students to assist with basic animal care, feeding, and boarding. Experience with large and small animals is provided. Training includes office procedures and software applications. This diploma leads directly into the Veterinary Technical, AAS, Degree.

Graduates of this program will work in small or large clinics, rural or urban, and bring experience with large and small animals to that occupation. Related careers include shelters, rescues, zoos, livestock production facilities, and local and state agencies.
