ABE Teacher Corrections Education Fort Dodge Correctional Facility
About the Position
The Adult Basic Education (ABE) Teacher is responsible for the instruction of incarcerated individuals in a correctional setting in compliance with Department of Corrections and Iowa Central Community College policies and regulations. Areas of instruction include High School Equivalency (HSED) and/or Literacy classes in the subject areas of Reading, Math, Writing, Social Studies, and Science.
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required. Standard Iowa Teaching License and teaching experience preferred. Must satisfy a Department of Corrections background security screening.
