Instructor, Accounting Associate Program

About the Position


Responsible for teaching and developing course work to support the Accounting Associate Program.  Subject matter that may be taught includes:  Intro to Accounting, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Payroll Applications, Computer Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Cost Accounting, Excel for Accounting, Tax Accounting, Certified Bookkeeping Review, College Experience and Internship.  Instructor will also provide leadership and support to the student Accounting Club to provide students with the opportunity to develop professional skills and networks within the boundaries of a student organization and will assist with all aspects of recruiting, advising, and retention of current and prospective students.

Requirements


Instructor shall meet a minimum of one of the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited graduate school
  • OR Master’s degree from a regionally accredited graduate school with a minimum of 18 graduate-level credit hours in accounting
  • OR Three or more years of successful experience in a professional field or area in which the instructor is teaching classes and in which post baccalaureate recognition or professional licensure is necessary for practice, including a current CPA, CMA, CFA, or other accounting certification.
  • Meet the standards of the Iowa Central Quality Faculty Plan established by the College Board of Trustees.

Conditions


This is a full-time position (170 days).  Minimum annual salary will be $61,665.  Benefits include health and hospitalization, dental, long-term disability, and term life insurance, paid sick leave and holidays, and participation in IPERS or TIAA retirement plan.
