Corrections Education Navigator

About the Position


This individual will serve the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility (FDCF) and the North Central Correctional Facility (NCCF) in Rockwell City.  This position is grant funded which is secured through June 30, 2024. 

The position will provide intensive community outreach to increase enrollment in post-secondary training and education and other work-based learning opportunities for eligible incarcerated individuals.  The Navigator will work in collaboration with the Iowa Department of Corrections on the recruitment, assessment, and development of an education pathway for incarcerated individuals from intake to re-entry which will integrate skills assessments, basic skills remediation, technical training, and other education programming that could include Second Chance Pell.

Requirements


Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Areas of emphasis and/or experience in academic advising of students, counseling, higher education, demonstrated competency use of technology, and customer relations are recommended. Must satisfy a Department of Corrections background security screening.

Salary Range


$37,711-38,454.
