56th Annual Commencement set for May 4

Iowa Central Community College will hold its 56th annual commencement on Thursday May 4.

Commencement ceremonies will take place at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in Hodges Fieldhouse on the Iowa Central Campus in Fort Dodge.

Graduates earning High School Equivalency Diplomas (HSED), Certificates, Diplomas, and Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Applied Arts and Associate of Professional Studies Degrees will participate in the 11 a.m. ceremony and graduates earning Associate of General Studies, Associate of Science and Associate of Arts will graduate at 3 p.m.

Featured speaker for this year’s ceremonies is Lisa Shimkat, 2022 Triton Hall of Fame inductee. Shimkat earned her Associate of Arts degree at Iowa Central before moving on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in communications and her Master of Business Administration from Iowa State University. She served on the Securities and Exchange Commission Advisory Committee on Small and Emerging Companies through 2017. She also serves on the Iowa Economic Development Authority Board since May of 2019 and is serving her third term on America’s Small Business Development Center, National Association Board. She currently is a member of the Fort Dodge Community School District Board of Education and has served on numerous boards and commissions.

Parents, relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the commencement ceremony. Seating is available in Hodges Fieldhouse. The doors to the fieldhouse will open at 10:00 a.m. for the 11:00 a.m. ceremony and 2:00 p.m. for the 3:00 p.m. ceremony. A reception in the Triton Café will follow both ceremonies.
