Six Iowa Central Community College instrumental music students were named to the Iowa Collegiate Honor Band.
The students participated in the two-day event on November 17-18 at Josephine Tope Auditorium in Nevada, Iowa alongside more than 70 students from 13 Iowa colleges and universities. The students participated in chair placement auditions and rehearsed 4 songs which were then presented in a Saturday afternoon concert led by guest conductor Captain Chrstina A. Muncey. Captain Muncey is the commander of the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia and the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.
The event is held in conjunction with the Iowa Music Educators Association Conference and the Iowa High School All-State Music Festival.
Students selected to represent Iowa Central included: Sarah Cummins, clarinet, Liberal Arts major from Aurelia; Rebecca Rainwater, alto saxophone, Psychology major from Des Moines; Andrew Dutcher, trumpet, Music major from Fort Dodge; Nicholas Ross, trumpet, Music major from Des Moines; Rori Snethen, French horn, accounting major from Webster City and Terrell Campbell, tuba, Music major from Las Vegas, Nevada.

I chose Iowa Central because of the amazing opportunities and teachers. When I came to visit, I fell in love with the teachers in my program of study.
