With the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year half finished, graduation is now in the sights of Iowa Central students, faculty, and staff.
To best prepare for graduation day, the seventh annual Grad Fest will be held on Wednesday, April 17 in the Student Resource Center from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Graduating students will be able to stop by the SRC to pick up their cap and gown, meet with various departments including Student Records, Business Office, Financial Aid, Career Services, Advising Center, Alumni Services, and the International Student Services Coordinator.
“We plan Grad Fest as a one stop shop for our graduates to pick up their cap and gown and meet with any departments they might need to make sure they have all things in order to receive their diploma,” said Sarah Ramthun, assistant registrar at Iowa Central.
Students will have a chance to visit with representatives from Jostens for graduation materials as well as be entered into a drawing for a free class ring. The Iowa Central Bookstore will also have graduation items, such as diploma and certificate frames, available for purchase and all attendees with receive a $5 Bookstore coupon. Cookies and punch will be served to celebrate the upcoming graduation ceremonies.
“It is a great day to promote and bring attention to the excitement of graduation and tie up any loose ends, go over future plans, ask questions and find out which ceremony they are part of,” said Iowa Central Registrar Courtney Kopp.
Grad Fest is also being held in conjunction this year with the annual Night of Triton Excellence which will be held at 7 p.m. in Hodges Fieldhouse.

The coaches inspire me every day, not just to be a good dancer, but to be a better person, teammate, captain, and student. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else other than Iowa Central.
