Register Now for First Year Student Orientation

First year orientation days for students enrolled for the fall of 2024 at Iowa Central Community College are coming soon.

Orientation Days will be offered on Friday July 12, Friday July 26 and Friday August 9. First year orientation is an opportunity for incoming students to explore campus, connect with other students, meet staff members and prepare for the fall semester. 

All Orientation Days will begin at 9 a.m. with registration in the Triton Café. The morning includes 45-minute informational sessions for students and parents to learn more about services offered on campus, student success in college and parent question and answer time.

Lunch and open houses begin at 11:30 a.m. and will offer students time to meet with Academic Advising, the Academic Resource Center, Admissions, Bookstore, Business Office, Career Services, Financial Aid, Health Center, Housing, Military and Veteran Services, Student Records, Student Activities and Intramurals and TRIO. Staff From the Athletic and Music and Theater Departments will be available from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.  Campus tours will also be offered during this time.

July 26 orientation will also serve as tool day for students enrolled in the Automotive Collision, Automotive Technology and Diesel Technology programs. Tool vendors will be set up in the Career Education Building from 12-4 p.m. for students to compare various brands of tools and meet with representatives from MAC Tools, Snap-On and other vendors. Most tool vendors offer a discount to students. It is also recommended that financial aid be completed before attending Tool Day. If students are unable to make it to Tool Day contact the Admissions Office at admissions@iowacentral.edu to get vendor contact information.

Orientation is not required, but it is encouraged for first year students to attend if they will be attending in the fall of 2024. To register for an orientation session, visit the Admissions page on the Iowa Central Website at https://www.iowacentral.edu/admissions/visit.asp

Registration deadlines are July 10 for the July 12 session, July 24 for the July 26 session and August 7 for the August 9 session.
