Iowa Central Community College is bringing back its Fall Play & Feast for the second year, offering audiences the chance to enjoy a delicious meal, live theatre, and even a behind-the-scenes look at the production. The event is set for Wednesday, October 15, 2025, with a noon matinee performance in Decker Auditorium.
This year’s play is The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, a fast-paced comedy by Don Zolidis that blends more than 200 of the classic fairy tales into one whirlwind performance. With plenty of humor, parody, and over-the-top characters, the show pokes fun at the traditional stories audiences think they know. Directed by Sean Mulvihill, the production offers a fresh take on the familiar, promising plenty of laughs along the way.
The feast itself is a highlight, prepared and served by Iowa Central’s culinary students. Guests will enjoy a catered lunch showcasing seasonal flavors and student talent before taking in the play. Additionally, prior to the performance, attendees will also have the rare opportunity to go backstage for a guided tour, offering a closer look at how the show comes together behind the curtain.
Tickets for the combined lunch, play, and backstage experience are $20 per person, with discounted group rates available for parties of six or more. Seating is limited, and reservations are encouraged early.
To reserve tickets, contact the Iowa Central Box Office at 515-574-1210 or email tickets@iowacentral.edu.
With good food, great theatre, and a peek behind the scenes, this year’s Fairytale Fall Play & Feast promises to be an afternoon to remember.
Being an International Student at Iowa Central is like living in a movie. Every day you meet someone new, try something else and eat something different. It’s not always easy but that’s what makes it exciting. The challenges, the crazy stories, always having room for improvement and that’s what makes this journey amazing.
