Iowa Central Community College congratulates alum Mark Campbell on his appointment as Director of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services by Governor Kim Reynolds, effective October 6, 2025.

Campbell, a Fort Dodge native, has built a remarkable career in public service, business, and community leadership. He served more than a decade as a Webster County Supervisor and has held leadership roles with the Webster County Board of Health, Solid Waste Commission, and the Mental Health Advisory Board. At the state level, he has served as Vice Chair of the Iowa State Association of Counties Board of Directors and as Chair of the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission. He is also a local business owner of Amigo’s Restaurant in Fort Dodge.

In recognition of his leadership and service, Campbell was inducted into the Iowa Central Triton Hall of Fame in 2024, receiving the Distinguished Alumni Award. Most recently, he played a key role in helping to identify the first recipient of the Bonnie Kay Largent Barnett Scholarship, further reflecting his commitment to supporting student success at Iowa Central.

“Mark’s career reflects his dedication to leadership, business innovation, and community progress,” Gov. Reynolds said in announcing the appointment. “He is keenly focused on doing his part to help build a stronger future for Iowa, and I know he will bring that mindset and dedication to DAS as its new leader.”

In a release from the office of Governor Reynolds, Campbell expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating: “I’m honored to be appointed by Governor Reynolds to serve as Director of the Department of Administrative Services. I look forward to working with the committed staff to ensure DAS continues to provide efficient and transparent services that support state government.”

Iowa Central President Dr. Jesse Ulrich shared, “Mark Campbell has always been a champion for Iowa Central, not only through his own accomplishments as an alum, but also through his constant support of our mission to help students achieve better lives. His commitment to community, leadership, and service reflects what it means to be a Triton. We are proud to call him one of our Distinguished Alumni and celebrate this next chapter of his leadership.”

Iowa Central celebrates this milestone achievement and is proud to see a Triton alum leading at the highest levels of state government.
