From graphic design to fine arts, Iowa Central Community College students showcased their creativity and talent during the Fall Art Reception, an annual event highlighting the artistic achievements of Triton artists across multiple disciplines. Despite unpredictable fall weather, the reception was a success, drawing students, faculty, staff, and community members together to celebrate student work.
The event featured live music by local musician Jeremy Ober, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout the gallery, while Iowa Central Culinary Arts provided a variety of eats and treats for guests to enjoy. Student artwork spanning photography, ceramics, drawing, graphic arts, and 2-D design filled the space, demonstrating both technical skill and creative exploration.
This year’s exhibition was juried by Richard Hanson, whose professional expertise helped recognize outstanding student work through Juror’s Awards in each category. In addition, Administration Awards, a People’s Choice Award, and Best of Show were presented to honor exceptional creativity and craftsmanship.

The Fall Art Reception is a testament to the creativity, dedication, and hard work of Iowa Central’s art students. Congratulations to all participating artists and award recipients—these students represent just a few of the many talented Tritons creating impactful work on campus.
Diversity is important to me. For people to learn and grow, there must be diversity in the workplace, schools, and sports. That is another reason I wanted to go to Iowa Central; there are so many people here from across the world, all with different backgrounds and life experiences. I saw Iowa Central as an opportunity not only to grow in both academics and in athletics, but also to become a stronger person.
