Iowa Central Opens Housing for Flood Victims

Iowa Central Community College is opening up its campus apartments to community members affected by flood waters. From now until July 5th, displaced families can use the temporary housing which is equipped with necessities such as beds, a couch, private bathroom and kitchen.

“Iowa Central is committed to supporting our community and emergency management efforts as best we can,” says Dr. Jesse Ulrich, President of Iowa Central Community College. “Offering our campus living apartments to those impacted by flood waters is one way we can be of immediate assistance.”

Iowa Central has sixteen campus apartment-style buildings located on their main Fort Dodge campus. People needing emergency housing need to contact Webster County Public Health. All housing arrangements will be made through their office.

Please call 515-573-4107 (press #2 if calling after hours) between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Individuals will need to bring personal supplies. This includes a pillow, bedding for a twin XL size bed, personal hygiene items, toilet paper, soap, bath towels and any needed kitchen supplies. If you need help securing these items, please contact Webster County Public Health.
