Iowa Central Singers Compete at NATS

All six singers competing in the NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) Competition at Morningside, Sioux City made it to the semi-finals. Luis Domingues was selected to the Honors Recital and received a monetary award at the conclusion of the event. The participating students and the competing categories were:
Riley Ballantyne – Classical
Luis Domingues – Classical and Broadway
Carrie Michalec - Broadway
Daniel Peet – Classical and Broadway
Rachael Smith – Classical and Broadway
Austin Sorenson - Classical
Students had to perform three memorized selections in each category before a panel of judges. Adjunct Voice Instructor, Sharon Morrical prepared and accompanied the students.
I wanted to go back to college after working for a couple of years out of high school. I wanted to acquire knowledge to further my career in a job I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
