FORT DODGE – The Iowa Central Human Services Club, in coordination with Student Activities, helped stock the food pantry Monday, March 4, at the Fort 8 Movie Theatre.

“It was a great event and we had such a strong turn out,” said Larry McLuckie, Iowa Central’s Human Services Coordinator. “It’s so great to see students get involved and have a great time doing it too.”

The Human Services Club sponsored the monthly Student Movie Night which is put on by Student Activities Department on Mondays. Students could get admission to any movie for $1 with the donation of two food items for the food pantry. Over 150 students participated in the event.

“This is something that really goes to help people out,” said McLuckie. “We couldn’t have done this without the student involvement in addition to Tom Beneke, Dave Pearson, Brandon Bush and all the others who help organize the event.”

Students in several classes on campus also helped with the drive by bringing donations to class prior to the event.
