Iowa Central to host 4th Alumni & Friends Weekend September 28-29th

Iowa Central Community College will host the 4th Alumni & Friends Weekend September 28-29th. The College will welcome back alumni and friends to campus to participate in alumni games. The women’s basketball alumni game takes the court at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The softball game will take place after the football game on Sunday.
Saturday evening features the highlight of the weekend as a new class will be inducted into the Triton Hall of Fame during the Alumni & Friends banquet.
The evening will begin at 5:00 p.m. inside Hodges Fieldhouse with a social hour and the beginning of the silent auction. The induction ceremony will take place at 6:00 p.m. with the banquet to follow. After dinner, a live auction will be held. The auction will feature four (50-hard line) tickets to the Iowa-Michigan game, a surround sound system with installation, Chef Michael’s designer dinner, I-pad mini, and an original drawing of the Iowa Central campus, signed sports memorabilia and more.
This year’s class is a diverse and impressive group, as four athletes, five alumni, and a humanitarian will be recognized. Distinguished Alumni include: Donald Olson, Madai Taylor, Thomas Schnurr, Vaughn Bauer, and Julie Thorson. Triton Athletic Award winners are: Maurice Bernard Smith, Dana Holland, Tony Davis, and Brad Schwartzbauer. This year’s Humanitarian Award winner is Robert J. Halm (posthumous). The induction ceremony will highlight each of their accomplishments.
Tickets for the Induction/Banquet are $20 per person or $35 per couple. Reserved corporate tables can also be purchased. Contact the Foundation office to reserve yours. (515-574-1137).
Sunday will complete the weekend’s activities at Dodger Stadium. Iowa Central will kick off the homecoming game against North Dakota at 12:00 p.m. The Iowa Central marching band will perform at halftime.
