FORT DODGE - The Iowa Central applied voice and instrumental students will perform the Fall Music Recital for the residents of Friendship Haven at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, at Center Hall. The annual event is a free event and the public is welcome.

The recital will feature performances from the students that are in the applied voice and instrument programs. The students meet all semester with a teacher for weekly lessons and the Fall Recital serves as a final for the class.

“The Fall Recital is a win-win for our students as well as Friendship Haven,” said Iowa Central Director of Choral Activities Kathleen Schreier. “Our students get to perform in front of a large and appreciative audience and the Friendship Haven residents get an afternoon of music. It’s a community college being a part of the community.”

The free concert will begin at 2:00 p.m. and the community is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served after the recital is over.

The recital is one option the students can select for a final performance. The rest of the students will perform during music juries on December 12. Those students will perform for a panel of teachers who will review the performance.
