FORT DODGE – It’s a promotion with a heart, as students in Iowa Central’s Broadcasting Program will broadcast live Saturday, Dec. 10, to raise toys, gifts and awareness for children receiving services at the Domestic and Sexual Assault Outreach Center over the holidays.

Santa vs. Santa, a promotion developed within the student’s curriculum will involve two students, dressed in Santa suits fighting to see which one can eat the most Village Inn pie. The winner receives the honor of delivering all toy donations raised in his Santa suit to the children at DSAOC.

“The students wanted to do something for local children, to make their Christmas a little brighter, and have done an amazing job putting everything together,” said Brooke Bickford Broadcasting Coordinator.

According to Bickford, the students have organized promotions before, but this one takes them to a different level, one that teams up the fun of a radio stunt and the much needed focus of that stunt doing something for people in the Fort Dodge community.

The event will be this Saturday, Dec. 10, from 3-5:00 p.m. and donations of toys, games and gifts for the some 100 children in need between the ages of infant through 16 can be dropped off at the downtown Fort Dodge Recreation Center or on campus at the 88.1 Studios in the Applied Science and Technology Building, Room 111.
