FORT DODGE - The Iowa Central Industrial Technology Program hosted nearly 175 prospective students as well as parents and instructors from all across the state at its annual Industrial Technology Visit Day.

The visit day is focused towards students interested in the Industrial Tech programs Iowa Central offers in addition to other career-oriented programs. Agriculture, Automotive Collision, Technology, Automotive Restoration Technology, Automotive Technology, Carpentry, Computer Integrated Fabrication, Computer Networking Technology, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Diesel Tech, Electrical/ Mechanical Technician, Electrical Technologies, Engineering &  Design Tech (CAD), Industrial Mechanics, Sustainable Energy Technology, Turf Grass Management and Welding Technology programs all hosted students during the visit.

The visit began with check-in in the Hodges Fieldhouse foyer and the Iowa Central programs had booths in the gym for students to check out. Representatives were at the booths to meet students and answer any questions they may have. After that, Interim Vice President of Instruction Dave Grosland welcomed everyone in attendance before they broke out into small groups called “Breakout Sessions.” During these sessions students got to visit the two programs they were interested in for an hour each. After the sessions were complete they returned to the gym for prize drawings then lunch. In the afternoon, students could take a tour of campus, take the COMPASS test or meet with an advisor.
