About Campus Security
Campus Security includes a director, four full-time employees, and four part-time employees. The director reports to the Dean of Student Services. Campus Security staff are not sworn or commissioned law enforcement officers. They do not carry weapons. All on-duty personnel wear a distinctive security uniform. They provide basic security services to the campus community and are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Members of the Campus Security staff attend training programs specifically designed for security personnel.
Campus Security works closely with the Fort Dodge Police Department and other local authorities. Campus Security provides walking and vehicle patrols, responds to criminal and non-criminal incidents. Campus Security offers a safety escort service to anyone who requests it, to anywhere on campus. Security officers make routine patrols of the campus, including lounge areas, and checks of the residence halls.
Campus Security makes, keeps, and maintains a daily log written in a form that is easily understood and records all crimes reported to the office. The log is available to the public for inspection in the offices of the Dean of Student Services or Housing and Security Director.
Threat Assessment
Iowa Central is concerned about the safety, health, and well-being of its students, faculty, and staff. The College has policies regarding the well-being of all members of the Iowa Central community. Some of these policies include incidents disruptive to our mission, classroom learning environment, or any homicidal, suicidal, and self-injurious threats or behaviors. If you are concerned or know about a student who may be violating these policies, a referral can be made to the Iowa Central Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) by utilizing the “Report It” link to the right. This form is not for emergencies. If a situation involved imminent risk of harm to self or others, please contact 911 and Campus Security at 515-574-1000.

Iowa Central gave me the opportunity to do both things I wanted for myself. To major in dental hygiene and play soccer.
